French 5-Day, Day 4, France, 1984, M40

It was hillier for Day 4, more round-about routes, so the time was a little slower, 7.7 km in 50:24, but no mistakes. The route on the leg a couple from the end, 76 to 87, may look like an unnecessary detour, but the "trail" I followed most of the way, mapped with a series of one long dash and two short ones, was actually a narrow concrete path, about a meter wide, supposedly built by the Germans when they occupied the area in the 1940s and used to get around on their motorbikes. Much faster running than all the other soft, sandy trails.
